About Me:Â
The Personal Narrative
Deanna Anthony is an award-winning actor and vocalist, a Narrator of Distinction Winner, an Earphones Award winner (solo and multicast) and an Audie Award Finalist audiobook narrator, a director, producer, host and voiceover artist that has appeared in theatre, independent and industrial films, tv, commercials, live events and concerts, on podcasts, in narration, animation, audio description and other voiceover.
With a background on stage, on camera, and in the booth, storytelling is at the essence of what she does every day. Bringing a broad range of skills, effervescence and conviction to her delivery process, Deanna's theatre background has prepared her to use her voice to bring life to art.

She enjoys the collaborative creative process, and is comfortable self-directing and directing others (actors, singers, voice talent and authors) when, and as, needed. Deanna has a professional recording studio equipped for solo and remotely engineered recording sessions. She can also accommodate in-studio sessions throughout Greater Los Angeles and Orange County California (please reach out for schedule details).
An original southern belle, with a citified education, Deanna’s voice has been described as warm, vibrant, conversational and empathetic.
She is a former beauty queen, on a mission, and with stories to tell.
Whether delivering inspirational, humorous or dramatic tones, Deanna remains committed to the text using her over 35 years of experience as a professional actor, director and performing arts educator.

Audiobook narration to date includes, but is not limited to:
Non-Fiction (Biography/Memoir, Business, Children's and Early Reader, Picture Book, Educational, Environmental, Finance, Health and Wellness, Historical, Justice, Political, Pop Culture, Public Policy, Philosophy, Psychology, Religion and Spirituality, Self Help, Social Sciences, Sports, True Crime, Young Adult),
Mystery (Cozy, Psychological / Thriller), Romance (Contemporary, Closed Door / Open Door, Foodie, Rom Com, Paranormal, Romantica, Romantasy, Sapphic, Sci Fi, Southern, Sports, Suspense, Sweet, Urban, African American, Urban Fantasy, Western), Literary Fiction, Domestic Drama, Humor, Women's Fiction, Short Story Anthologies, Nonfiction Historical Anthologies, World Literature, Children's Literature (Early Learning, Kids, Middle Grade), Teen and Young Adult, Speculative Fiction, New Adult, Historical Fiction, Fantasy, Science Fiction, Horror, Multi-Cultural, Multi-Racial, Motivational, Inspirational, Poetry, Graphic Novel, Cryptid Tales, Apocalyptic and Gothic Horror genres.
Extensive acting training in drama, comedy, audiobook narration and performance, character work and scene study equips her with the skill to tell a story from the perspective of an author, to become each character, while intense vocal training gives her the strength and dexterity to portray a wide range of multiple personality and varying gendered and non-gendered characterizations.
When not recording, filming or performing live as talent, Deanna provides performance directing / audiobook directing services and production management / support / coordination for Talkbox Productions, HarperCollins, John Marshall Media, Simon and Schuster, Sourcebooks, Independent Authors, Independent Film Directors and Producers. For Professional and Educational Theatre Companies, she teaches vocal technique and performance for professionals of stage, on-camera and on the mic and coaches for self-taped and in-studio auditions at various levels of production performance.
She enjoys cooking, baking, quilting, traveling domestically and internationally, stellar dining experiences, reading and writing, well choreographed practical stunt work, physical comedy, and a really good, connective superhero moment (especially those involving unassuming, everyday humans).
During the 2020 pandemic, she also hosted her own digital talk show called “Afternoon Tea with D” and has collaborated on The Narrator Roundtable Podcast in the role of Co-Host and Co-Producer.

Industry people have long said, “She’s the real deal”, “You want someone with an impeccable work ethic and spirit for what she does...this is your girl” and many have simply said, “hire her”.
